Liberated EDU is dedicated to addressing the critical issue of racial and ethnic disparity between public school teachers and students in the United States today.
Research shows that while student populations are becoming increasingly diverse, the teaching workforce remains predominantly White. We believe that this lack of representation is having a negative impact on student engagement and achievement.
We offer Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion training, curriculum design services, and ongoing professional development to help schools create a more inclusive and equitable environment. These services are designed to empower teachers to meet the needs of all their students, fostering a more inclusive and effective learning environment.
At Liberated EDU, we are committed to creating classrooms where every student feels represented, valued, and empowered to succeed. The importance of this mission becomes clear when we examine the lack of diversity among the faculty, staff, and administration in public schools.
According to data from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), in the 2017-18 school year, a staggering 79% of public school teachers were White, while only 47% of students shared that background. Meanwhile, Hispanic and Black students made up a growing portion of the student population, yet only 9% and 7% of teachers, respectively, reflected these backgrounds. This disconnect can affect student engagement, academic achievement, and overall school culture.
These disparities highlight the significant gap between the diversity of our students and the educators who guide them. As the student population continues to evolve—becoming more diverse each year—the teaching workforce has not kept pace. Liberated EDU was founded to bridge this gap.
At a time when only 36% of Americans are satisfied with the quality of K-12 education, and with growing concerns about the lack of diversity among educators, our consultancy offers solutions that address these issues head-on.
We are dedicated to working with schools and districts across the country to create classrooms where every student feels seen, valued, and inspired to succeed. Together, we can build a more inclusive future, one classroom at a time. Schedule a consultation with our founder today!
